Apply to be an Event Assistant
Sleeping Bee Designs is looking for Event Assistants to join their 2024 roster!

This is an opportunity to gain real-world experience in the wedding industry alongside Owner, Sarah Rosier, and her growing team of Event Leads. Events mostly take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and assistants should expect to be on-site anywhere between 4 and 12 hours, depending on the scope of work.

Event Assistants will support the wedding party and SBD Event Lead during set up, clean up, and for the duration of the event. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up ceremony chairs, handling client decorations, placing centerpieces and florals, working room flips, special events, grand exits, and packing up. Assistants must be prepared to be on their feet and move, carry, and lift up to 30 pounds.

The ability to positively take direction is essential. Wedding days can be stressful and emotional, and it is important that all SBD team members remain professional and calm to support all team members, vendors, and wedding party members.

The SBD team embodies the following values:
-
Be consistent
-
Be collaborative
-
Be honest

-

-

-
Attentive
If so, you could be a great fit for the SBD team! Previous experience in the event industry is preferred but not required, depending on the candidate. Applicants should be prepared to present their previous work experience.
As a fast-paced growing company, SBD requires flexibility and openness to change. Applicants should expect the work schedule to have differing hours on a month-to-month basis. There may be months where you may not work at all. The Owner will determine the schedule in early 2024 based on availability, training needed, venue, etc.

Other requirements:
-
Proficiency in Google/Google Drive
-
Ability to be on phone/video calls (Google Meet/Zoom)
-
Reliable transportation
-
Availability for evening prep meetings or occasional meetings with a venue, client, or other vendor

Applicants should be prepared to do one virtual introductory meeting with the Owner, Sarah. If requested, a secondary meeting with Sarah and up to two current team members will be scheduled.
